CrN is a chromium nitride coating family valued for its combination of wear resistance, toughness, smooth surface behavior and useful corrosion performance in selected environments. It is frequently evaluated for molds, forming tools and machine components where both mechanical contact and the service environment affect the surface.
For Haygor applications, CrN may be considered for pumps, valves, instrumentation, polished tooling and other components exposed to wear, sticking, oxidation or selected process media. It should never be presented as universally corrosion-proof; density, defects, substrate, finish, chemistry, temperature and exposure all matter.

Will CrN change the part dimensions?
Advanced coatings may be thin, but even a small layer matters on tight fits, threads, bores, sealing surfaces and sharp edges. Critical dimensions should be identified for masking, tolerance review or post-coating finishing.
Can every internal bore, recess or thread be coated?
Vacuum and deposition processes are strongly influenced by the selected process, line of sight, fixturing and geometry. Deep bores, hidden features and shadowed surfaces may receive limited coverage. Haygor should review the drawing before coverage is promised.
Is CrN guaranteed to extend service life?
No coating should be presented as a universal service-life guarantee. Improvement depends on whether the coating is matched to the substrate, dominant failure mode, operating environment, preparation, thickness, finish and inspection criteria.
