Cleaning & Contamination Control

Cleaning for Nitrogen Service

Prepare compatible fittings, transmitters, gauges, flowmeters, manifolds, hoses, tubing, and assemblies for controlled nitrogen-service use.

Service Overview

Nitrogen-service cleaning prepares equipment for duty—it is not nitrogen blasting.

Haygor’s published nitrogen-service process describes disassembly, mechanical pre-cleaning, selected solvent cleaning, drying, white-light inspection, ultraviolet inspection, labeling, sealed packaging, reassembly, testing, and calibration. The nitrogen is the intended process service and may also be used as an approved dry gas; the service should not be confused with liquid-nitrogen or dry-ice blasting.

The required cleanliness depends on the specific nitrogen application, purity, pressure, temperature, downstream equipment, contamination sensitivity, and customer procedure. A scope suitable for inert-gas utility service may be different from one used for high-purity analytical, pharmaceutical, food, semiconductor, or other controlled systems.

Capabilities

Match the cleaning and verification route to the nitrogen application.

The service objective may be hydrocarbon removal, particulate control, moisture control, prior-media removal, or another customer-defined cleanliness condition.

Service Application

Define utility, high-purity, purge, analytical, process, or other nitrogen duty and downstream sensitivity.

Compatibility Review

Identify parts, seals, coatings, electronics, and materials that require isolation or a different method.

Pre-Cleaning

Remove heavy contamination through approved brushing, grinding, blasting, swabbing, or related preparation.

Selected Cleaning

Apply the approved chemistry, rinse or flush, and drying route for the required end condition.

Inspection

Use strong white light and controlled UV-A inspection where those methods support the acceptance criteria.

Release Protection

Reassemble, test, calibrate, label, bag, seal, and preserve the cleaned state as specified.

Service Process

A controlled route for nitrogen-service components.

The exact process is confirmed from equipment materials, prior contamination, and the customer’s cleanliness requirement.

Review the duty

Identify nitrogen purity, pressure, temperature, process function, and downstream cleanliness sensitivity.

Receive & disassemble

Record condition, isolate incompatible parts, and expose the surfaces or flow paths to be cleaned.

Remove gross soil

Use approved mechanical preparation to address deposits before the primary cleaning step.

Clean, rinse & dry

Apply the selected chemistry and controlled drying, including dry nitrogen where approved.

Inspect & disposition

Perform the specified visual, UV-A, swab, fluid, or residue checks and re-clean failures.

Protect & return

Reassemble, test, calibrate, label, seal, package, and issue required records.

Scope the Work

Define the nitrogen purity and contamination-control objective.

The words “nitrogen service” do not establish a universal cleaning standard or test method.

Avoid importing claims from cryogenic or dry-ice cleaning processes.

This page is written around cleaning equipment for nitrogen service. Liquid-nitrogen blasting, dry-ice blasting, and other cryogenic methods are separate processes and should not be represented as part of the Haygor scope unless operations confirms that capability.

  • Component identification, dimensions, materials, seals, coatings, electronics, and photographs

  • Nitrogen grade or purity, pressure, temperature, flow, process function, and downstream equipment
  • Customer procedure, cleanliness limit, verification method, documentation, and witness requirements
  • Disassembly, repair, reassembly, pressure or leak testing, calibration, and internal flushing
  • Drying gas, clean handling, labeling, bagging, sealing, storage, transport, and installation controls
