Chart Recorders

Chart recorders are electromechanical devices that record mechanical or electrical input trends onto paper. At Haygor, we have all varieties of chart recorders from the top brands in the industry, including Honeywell, Barton, Yokogawa, Fisher Recorder, Foxboro, and more.

Data is recorded on paper with most traditional chart recorders. The paper is fed under a pen like clockwork, and the pen varies from a straight trajectory based on the signal. The result is a chart or graph of the data. We have chart recorders in various configurations as well as multichannel (or multi-pen) or single channel styles. We even carry the latest state of the art digital chart recorders, which record information in a format that can be downloaded to a computer.

We have dozens of data recorder models to choose from based on your enterprise’s needs and budget. Chart recorders can no longer be classified as complex, midrange, and simple. The lines have been blurred in recent years with the introduction of PC-based functions being added to most of the products and the hybridization of data loggers with conventional analog chart recorders.

What Are Chart Recorders Used for?

Manufacturing plants are the ideal place to use chart recorders. They are used to track pH, temperatures, humidity, flow, and pressure. Engineering and scientific data is monitored in laboratories using chart recorders. They keep close tabs on data generated in any work requiring a graphic record, such as diagnostics, statistical analysis, and testing.

Paper and pen is still a viable option when the process to be tracked does not require a PC-based interface and you are tracking limited variables. The intuitiveness of a circular chart is its biggest advantage, since it gives a full history of each variable over a time period.

Which Chart Recorder Is Best?

In short, it depends on what you need to use it for. Here are our most popular styles:

Hybrid Recorders – These function as data loggers or recorders. It can generate a chart or a digital stamp of the inputs.

Strip Chart Recorders – A strip or roll of paper is passed linearly beneath one or more pens with this style.

Paperless Recorders – Rather than printing the chart on paper, this newer type of recorder displays the chart on a graphic display.

XY Recorders – These accept two inputs and create a graph or chart of one input compared to the other in order to understand the relationship between the two inputs.

Circular Chart Recorders – As mentioned above, these recorders track data with a pen on a circular paper.
